Number 10 of 1968 CHESTER BEATTY LIBRARY ACT, 1968 AN ACT TO ENABLE THE PRESIDENT OF IRELAND TO APPOINT FROM TIME TO TIME ONE OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE CHESTER BEATTY LIBRARY. [16th May, 1968] WHEREAS Sir Alfred Chester Beatty, deceased, by his will devised and bequeathed the library collected and established by him as The Chester Beatty Library to certain persons therein referred to as the library trustees upon trust to keep and maintain the said library for the use and enjoyment of the public: AND WHEREAS there is in the said will a wish expressed that in addition to the persons thereby appointed other persons should from time to time be appointed to act as such library trustees and also a declaration and request that one of such other persons should be so appointed by the President of Ireland: BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Power of President to appoint library trustee. 1.—Subject to the terms and conditions contained in the will of Sir Alfred Chester Beatty, deceased, the President of Ireland may from time to time appoint a person to be a library trustee for the purposes of the said will and the codicil thereto dated the 17th day of November, 1966. Short title. 2.—This Act may be cited as the Chester Beatty Library Act, 1968.
