Number 2 of 1968 LOCAL GOVERNMENT (BUNCRANA) ACT, 1968 AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 10 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT, 1946 , IN RELATION TO THE URBAN DISTRICT OF BUNCRANA. [13th March, 1968.] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:— Principal section. 1.—In this Act “the Principal section” means section 10 of the Local Government Act, 1946 , as amended by section 7 of the Local Government (Temporary Reduction of Valuation) Act, 1954 , section 50 of the Local Government Act, 1955 , and section 3 of the Local Government (Temporary Reduction of Valuation) Act, 1960 . Amendment of Principal section. 2.—The Principal section is hereby amended as follows: (
- a)in subsection (6A) “eight” shall be substituted for “thirty” and paragraphs (
- ix)to (xxx) shall be deleted, (
- b)the following subsection shall be inserted after subsection (6A): “(6B) In subsection
(6)of this section the words ‘a rate of one penny in the pound in each area’ shall, where the area in question is the urban area consisting of the urban district of Buncrana, be construed, in relation to every local financial year after the 31st day of March, 1968 (not being the first local financial year in which a general revision of reteable valuations in the county of Donegal has effect or a later local financial year), as referring to a rate of seven-tenths of one penny in the pound in that urban area.” Short title and collective citation. 3.—
(1)This Act may be cited as the Local Government (Buncrana) Act, 1968.
(2)The Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1960, and this Act may be cited as the Local Government Acts, 1925 to 1968.
