AmendmentsLeasuithe I, MICHEÁL Ó MÓRÁIN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 12 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and section 1 of the Garda Síochána Act, 1958 (No. 14 of 1958), with the sanction of the Minister for Finance and after due compliance with subsection

(2)of the said section 12, hereby order as follows:
  1. This Order may be cited as the Garda Síochána Allowances (No. 2) Order,
  3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order.
  4. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Garda Síochána Allowances (Consolidation) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 218 of 1965 ). 4.
(1)Article 5
(4)of the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution for the sentence commencing "After 30 nights" of the following: " After 30 nights no allowance is payable to Chief Superintendents and higher ranks or to Superintendents or Inspectors, except as provided in paragraphs
(3)(i) and
(3)(ii) of this Article. After 30 nights an allowance of 12/3d per night is payable to Station Sergeants, Sergeants and Gardaí."
(2)This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1968. 5.
(1)The Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution of "2.14.6 per month" for "2.10.0 per month".
(2)This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1968. 6.
(1)Article 16
(1)of the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution of "£193 per annum" for "£177 per annum".
(2)This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of June, 1968. 7.
(1)The Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution of "52.0.0. per annum" for "40.0.0. per annum".
(2)This Article shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of September, 1968, GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 28th day of November,
