ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY OF CAVAN) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS,1971 The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) hereby makes the following Regulations: – 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Cavan) (Amendment) Regulations, 1971.
(2)The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Cavan) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 196 of 1968 ) and these Regulations shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Cavan) Regulations, 1968 and 1971. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of February, 1971. 3. The Second Schedule to the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Cavan) Regulations, 1968, is hereby amended as follows :- (
- a)by the substitution in reference 13 of the following– at (
- c)"500" for "60" at (
- e)"740" for "540" at (
- f)"515" for "315" (
- b)by the addition of the following reference "17. The following roads at Mullagh : – (
- a)The Virginia-Moynalty road from a point 350 yards west of its junction with the Bailleborough- Whitegate road to a point 150 yards south-east of its junction with the Rosehill Road. (
- b)The Bailieborough Road for a distance of 250 yards from its junction with the Virginia-Moynalty road. (
- c)The Whitegate Road for a distance of 100 yards from its junction with the Virginia-Moynalty road. (
- d)The Newcastle Road for a distance of 120 yards from its junction with the Virginia-Moynalty road. (
- e)The Rosehill Road for a distance of 25 yards from its junction with Virginia-Moynalty road." EXPLANATORY NOTE These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County of Cavan) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 196 of 1968 ) by the inclusion in the Second Schedule thereto of specified roads at Mullagh and by the alteration of specified distances in relation to speed limits applicable to certain roads at Kingscourt.
