BRUCELLOSIS IN CATTLE (MOVEMENT CONTROL) (SUPPLEMENTARY PROVISIONS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1971. I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, it appearing to me to be necessary for the purpose of the progressive eradication of brucellosis in cattle, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 20 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Supplementary Provisions) (Amendment) Order, 1971.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1972. 2.
(1)The Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Supplementary Provisions) Order, 1971 ( S.I. No. 176 of 1971 ), is hereby amended by— (a) the substitution of the following for the definition of " the county " in Article 2: " ' the counties ' has the meaning assigned to it by Article 3
(1)of this Order "; and (b) the substitution of the following for paragraph
(1)of Article 3: "
(1)The provisions of this Order shall apply to the area which consists of the administrative counties of Longford, Mayo, Roscommon, Westmeath and that part of the administrative county of Offaly lying north and west of the River Brosna and the area which consists of the administrative county of Louth, which areas are in this Order referred to as the counties."
(2)In the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Supplementary Provisions) Order, 1971, each reference to the county shall be construed as a reference to the counties within the meaning of that Order, as amended by paragraph

This Order by amending the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Supplementary Provisions) Order, 1971, extends to Counties Longford, Louth, Roscommon, Westmeath and the portion of County Offaly lying north and west of the River Brosna the controls which already apply in County Mayo.
