EMERGENCY POWERS (COMPENSATION FOR PERSONAL INJURIES) (CIVILIANS) SCHEME, 1942 (FIFTH AMENDMENT) SCHEME, 1972. I, SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (No. 19 of 1946), as amended by section 2 of the Continuation of Compensation Schemes Act, 1946 (Amendment) Act, 1949 (No. 15 of 1949), hereby make the following Scheme : 1. This Scheme may be cited as the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Civilians) Scheme, 1942 (Fifth Amendment) Scheme, 1972. 2. In this Scheme— " the Scheme of 1960 " means the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Civilians) Scheme, 1942 (Fourth Amendment) Scheme, 1960 ( S.I. No. 162 of 1960 ) ; " the Principal Scheme " means the Emergency Powers (Compensation for Personal Injuries) (Civilians) Scheme, 1942 (S. R. & O. No. 229 of 1942). 3. Paragraphs

(1)and
(2)of Article 10 of the Principal Scheme are hereby amended by— (
  1. a)the substitution, with effect from the 1st day of May, 1967, for " ninety shillings " (inserted by the Scheme of 1960) of " five pounds seventy-five new pence ", (
  2. b)the substitution, with effect from the 5th day of October, 1970, for " five pounds seventy-five new pence " (inserted by this Scheme) of " seven pounds ", (
  3. c)the substitution, with effect from the 4th day of October, 1971, for " seven pounds " (inserted by this Scheme) of " seven pounds fifty new pence ", and (
  4. d)the substitution, with effect from the 2nd day of October, 1972, for " seven pounds fifty new pence " (inserted by this Scheme) of " eight pounds ten new pence ". 4. Paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of Article 24 of the Principal Scheme are hereby amended by— (
  1. a)the substitution, with effect from the 1st day of May, 1967, for " thirty-five shillings " (inserted by the Scheme of 1960) of " four pounds seventy-five new pence ", (
  2. b)the substitution, with effect from the 5th day of October, 1970, for " four pounds seventy-five new pence " (inserted by this Scheme) of " six pounds ", (
  3. c)the substitution, with effect from the 4th day of October, 1971, for " six pounds " (inserted by this Scheme) of " seven pounds ", and (
  4. d)the substitution, with effect from the 2nd day of October, 1972, for " seven pounds " (inserted by this Scheme) of " seven pounds sixty new pence ".
