AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 245 of 1972. SOCIAL WELFARE (MODIFICATIONS OF INSURANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1972. The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 (No. 11 of 1952) and by section 12 of the said Act as amended by section 15 of the Social Welfare Act, 1972 (No. 15 of 1972) hereby makes the following Regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972.
(2)These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 to 1971 shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 to 1972. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 2nd October, 1972. 3. Sub-article
(1)of Article 5 of the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 (No. 236 of 1956) is hereby amended by the addition of the following sub-paragraph— "(j) employment as a member of the Garda Síochána." - SEOIRSE Ó COLLA, Minister for Finance. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations amend the Social Welfare (Modifications of Insurance) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 236 of 1956 ) so as to provide for the application as from 2 October, 1972, of the reduced rates of employment contributions giving title to widows' (contributory) pension and orphans (contributory) allowance to members of the Gárda Síochána.
