Amendment of section 28 of Redundancy Payments Act, 1967. 2. Short title, collective citation and commencement. Acts Referred to Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 1967, No. 21 Social Welfare Act, 1952 1952, No. 11 Social Welfare Act, 1973 1973, No. 10 Number 11 of 1973 REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS ACT, 1973 AN ACT TO AMEND AND EXTEND THE REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS ACTS, 1967 AND 1971. [28th June, 1973] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Amendment of section 28 of Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 . 1.— Section 28 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 , which specifies the amount of weekly contributions to the Redundancy Fund, is hereby amended by the insertion after subsection
(3)of the following new subsection: “(3A) Notwithstanding anything in section 27 or this section of this Act, a redundancy contribution shall not be payable by an employed contributor (within the meaning of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 ) who is in receipt of a widow's (contributory) pension, a widow's (non-contributory) pension, deserted wife's benefit, a deserted wife's allowance or a social assistance allowance under section 8 of the Social Welfare Act, 1973 .”. Short title, collective citation and commencement. 2.—
(1)This Act may be cited as the Redundancy Payments Act, 1973 .
(2)The Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 and 1971, and this Act may be cited together as the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1973.
(3)This Act shall come into operation on such day as the Minister appoints by order.
