EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (CYCLE TYRES) REGULATIONS, 1973. I, PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Cycle Tyres) Regulations, 1973.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 22nd day of January,
- The Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) (Amendment) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 118 of 1963 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the Schedule thereto of the following: "SCHEDULE Algeria France Norway Austria Greece Portugal Belgium Iceland Spain Canada Israel Sweden Cyprus Italy Switzerland Denmark Lebanon Tunisia Egypt Luxembourg Turkey Federal Republic of Malta United Kingdom Germany Morocco United States of America" Finland The Netherlands GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 15th day of January, 1973 PATRICK J. LALOR, Minister for Industry and Commerce. EXPLANATORY NOTE This Instrument removes with effect from 22nd January, 1973, certain countries from the scope of the Control of Imports (Quota No. 2) Order, 1934 (S.R. & O., No. 231 of 1934), as amended. The Order prohibits, except under licence, the importation of cycle and motor cycle tyres and tubes originating in certain countries. The countries removed from the scope of the Quota by this Instrument are : Finland, Israel, Malta, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Cyprus, Lebanon and Algeria.
