AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 8 of 1973. THE CORK HOSPITALS BOARD (ESTABLISHMENT) ORDER, 1966 (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1973. The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 3 to 6 of the Health (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1961 (No. 27 of 1961), hereby orders as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Cork Hospitals Board (Establishment) Order, 1966 (Amendment) Order, 1973. 2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the Cork Hospitals Board (Establishment) Order, 1966 ( S.I. No. 133 of 1966 ). 3. Article 5 of the Principal Order is hereby amended by the substitution for sub-articles
(1)and
(2)of the following sub-articles:— "
(1)The Board shall consist of twenty two members appointed by the Minister.
(2)Nineteen of the said members shall be appointed by the Minister as follows:— ( a ) Eleven members of the Southern Health Board nominated by the said Board of whom at least two shall not have been appointed as such members by the Lord Mayor, Alderman and Burgesses of Cork or by the Council of the County of Cork or by the Council of the County of Kerry; ( b ) the Chief Executive of the Southern Health Board; ( c ) two officers of the Southern Health Board on the nomination of the Chief Executive Officer of the said Health Board; ( d ) the President of University College, Cork; ( e ) a member of the medical teaching staff of University College, Cork, on the nomination of the President of the said University College; ( f ) a member of the dental teaching staff of University College, Cork, on the nomination of the President of the said University College; ( g ) two persons nominated by the Minister for Education". GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Health this 15th day of January, 1973. ERSKINE CHILDERS, Minister for Health. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The effect of this Order is to enable the Minister for Health to appoint two additional members to the Cork Hospitals Board, such members to be members of the Southern Health Board who have not been appointed by the Cork Corporation or the County Councils of Cork or of Kerry.
