No. 10 of 1974. ANIMAL REMEDIES (CONTROL OF CHLORAMPHENICOL) REGULATIONS, 1974. I, MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 7 of the Animal Remedies Act, 1956 (No. 41 of 1956), and after consultation with the Animal Remedies Consultative Committee and the Minister for Health, hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Animal Remedies (Control of Chloramphenicol) Regulations, 1974.
(2)These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of July,
- The sale of chloramphenicol or its salts or derivatives or any preparation containing such substances is hereby prohibited save under licence of the Minister. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 24th day of January,
- MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations prohibit, except through or on the prescription of a registered veterinary surgeon or under licence, the sale of chloramphenicol or any substance containing chloramphenicol for administration to animals.
