COMMITTEES OF AGRICULTURE (OFFICERS' TRAVELLING EXPENSES AND MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCE AND EXPENSES) (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) REGULATIONS, 1974. I, MARK CLINTON, Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 28 of the Agriculture Act, 1931 (No. 8 of 1931), and section 6 of the Agriculture (Amendment) Act, 1958 (No. 17 of 1958), as adapted by the Agriculture (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1965 ( S.I. No. 146 of 1965 ), hereby make the following regulations: 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1974.
(2)The Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1965 to 1973, the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 303 of 1974 ), and these Regulations may be cited together as the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations. 1965 to 1974. 2. This Order shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1974. 3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. 4.
(1)The Schedule to the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 22 of 1965 ), as amended by the Regulations referred to in paragraph
(2)of this regulation, is hereby amended by:— ( a ) the substitution of "£5.50" for "£4.56" in both places where it occurs and of "£5.07" for "£4.20" in paragraph 10 (a), ( b ) the substitution of "£4.94" and "£4.23" for "£4.09" and "£3.50", respectively, in each place where they occur in subparagraphs (
- b)and (
- c)of paragraph 10, ( c ) the substitution of "£4.13" for "£3.42" in both places where it occurs and of "£3.42" for "£2.83" in paragraph 10 (d), ( d ) the substitution of "0.87" for "£0.72" in paragraph 11 (b), ( e ) the substitution of "£0.75" for "£0.62" in subparagraph (
- d)and ( f ) of paragraph 11, and ( f ) the substitution of "£0.71" for "£0.59" in paragraph 11 (h).

No. 126 of 1966 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1967 ( S.I. No. 60 of 1967 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1969 ( S.I. No. 18 of 1969 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1969 ( S.I. No. 68 of 1971 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1972 ( S.I. No. 64 of 1972 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations, 1972 ( S.I. No. 139 of 1972 ), the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1973 ( S.I. No. 251 of 1973 ), and the Committees of Agriculture (Officers' Travelling Expenses and Maintenance Allowance and Expenses) (Amendment) Regulations, 1974. These Regulations provide for an increase as from 1st January, 1974 in the rates of maintenance expenses in the form of night and day allowances payable to officers of Committees of Agriculture.
