GALWAY COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974. The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33

(7)of the Local Government Act, 1941 , (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Galway County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974.
(2)This Order and the Galway County Council Order, 1942 may be cited collectively as the Galway County Council Orders, 1942 and
  1. Article 3 of and the Schedule to the Galway County Council Order, 1942, are hereby revoked. 3.
(1)The County of Galway shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.
(2)Every such county electoral area shall consist of the places set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.
(3)The number of members of the Council of the County of Galway to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.
  1. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division, borough, urban district, townland or island shall be construed as a reference to such district electoral division, borough, urban district, townland or island as existing at the date of this Order and any reference to a former rural district shall be construed as a reference to that district as constituted immediately before the 1st day of October,
