KILDARE COUNTY COUNCIL (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1974. The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 33

(7)of the Local Government Act, 1941 (No. 23 of 1941), hereby orders as follows:— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Kildare County Council (Amendment) Order, 1974.
(2)This Order and the Kildare County Council Order, 1942, may be cited collectively as the Kildare County Council Orders, 1942 and
  1. The Kildare County Council (Amendment) Orders, 1954 and 1966 are hereby revoked. 3.
(1)The County of Kildare shall be divided into the county electoral areas named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.
(2)Each such county electoral area shall consist of the areas set forth in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.
(3)The number of members of the Council of the County of Kildare to be elected for each such county electoral area shall be the number set forth in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such county electoral area.
  1. Every reference in the Schedule to this Order to a district electoral division, townland or urban district shall be construed as referring to such district electoral division, townland or urban district as existing at the date of this Order and every reference to a former rural district shall be construed as a reference to that district as constituted immediately before the 1st day of October,

County Electoral Area Contents of County Electoral Area Number of Members to be elected for each county electoral area Athy The District Electoral Division of:— 4 Athy Rural, Ballaghmoon, Ballitore, Belan, Bert, Burtown, Carrigeen, Castledermot, Churchtown, Dunmanoge, Fontstown, Graney, Grangemellon, Inchaquire, Johnstown, Kilberry,Kilkea, Moone, Narraghmore, Skerries; the townlands of:— Bushypark, Castlefarm, Coolyphullagh, Elone, Fearaun, Kilboggan, Kilrush, Tawnrush in the district electoral division of Kilrush; and the Urban District of Athy. Clane The District Electoral Divisons of:— 7 Ballynadrumny, Balraheen, Cadamstown, Carburry, Carrick, Celbridge, Clane, Cloncurry (in the former rural district of Celbridge), Donadea, Donaghcumper, Donore (excluding the townlands of Aghpaudeen, Ballysize, Barrettstown, Donore, Oldtowndonore, Stickins, Waterstown), Downings, Drehid, Dunfierth, Kilcock, Kilmeage North (excluding the townland of Drumsru), Kilmeage South, Kilpatrick, Kilrainy, Leixlip, Maynooth, Rathernan (excluding the townlands of Barnacrow, Baronstown East), Robertstown, Straffan, Timahoe North, Timahoe South, Windmill Cross; the townlands of:— Ballyhays; Baronrath, Blackhall, Clownings, Ladycastle Lower, Ladycastle Upper, Turnings Lower, Turnings Upper, Whitechurch in the district electoral division of Bodenstown; Boston, Bishopscourt Lower, Oughterard in the district electoral division of Oughterard. Kildare The District Electoral Divisions of:— 5 Ballybrackan, Ballysax East (excluding that part of the townland of Curragh known as Windy Gap Road and Lumville), Ballysax West, Ballyshannon, Cloncurry (in the former rural district of Edenderry), Dunmurry, Feighcullen, Harristown, Kilcullen, Kildangan, Kildare, Killinthomas, Kilrush (excluding the townlands of Bushypark, Castlefarm, Coolyphullagh, Elone, Fearaun, Kilboggan, Kilrush and Tawnrush), Lackagh, Lullymore, Monasterevin, Nurney, Pollardstown (excluding the townland of Loughbrown), Quinnsborough, Rathangan, Thomastown, Usk; the townlands of:— Brownstown, Logstown and Kilcullenbridge in the district electoral division of Carnalway; Newabbey in the district electoral division of Gilltown; Drumsru in the district electoral division of Kilmeage North; Barnacrow and Baronstown East in the district electoral division of Rathernan. Naas The District Electoral Divisions of:— 5 Ballymore Eustace, Bodenstown (excluding the townlands of Ballyhays, Baronrath, Blackhall, Clownings, Ladycastle Tower, Ladycastle Upper, Turnings Lower, Turnings Upper and Whitechurch), Carnalway (excluding the townlands of Brownstown, Logstown and Kilcullenbridge), Carragh, Droichead Nua Rural, Droichead Nua Urban, Gilltown (excluding the townland of Newabbey), Kill, Killashee, Kilteel, Ladytown, Morristownbiller, Naas Rural, Newtown, Oldconnell, Oughterard (excluding the townlands of Boston, Bishopscourt Lower and Oughterard), Rathmore; the townlands of:— Aghpaudeen, Ballysize, Barrettstown, Donore, Oldtowndonore, Stickins and Waterstown in the district electoral division of Donore; Loughbrown in the district electoral division of Pollardstown; that part of the townland of Curragh known as Windy Gap Road and Lumville in the district electoral division of Ballysax East; the Urban District of Naas.
