Number 12 of 1975 COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (PERJURY) ACT, 1975 AN ACT TO EXTEND THE CRIMINAL LAW OF THE STATE TO ANY PERSON WHO BEFORE THE COURT OF JUSTICE OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES SWEARS ANYTHING WHICH HE KNOWS TO BE FALSE OR DOES NOT BELIEVE TO BE TRUE, AND TO PROVIDE FOR OTHER MATTERS CONNECTED WITH THE AFOREMENTIONED MATTER. [24th June, 1975] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Extension of perjury. 1.—A person who before the Court of Justice of the European Communities swears anything which he knows to be false or does not believe to be true shall, whatever his nationality, be guilty of perjury. Prosecution of offences. 2.—Proceedings for an offence under this Act may be taken in any place in the State and the offence may for all incidental purposes be treated as having been committed in that place. Short title. 3.—This Act may be cited as the Court of Justice of the European Communities (Perjury) Act, 1975.
