No. 82 of 1976. MEDICAL PREPARATIONS (CONTROL OF SALE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1976. The Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 65 of the Health Act, 1947 (No. 28 of 1947), hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Medical Preparations (Control of Sale) (Amendment) Regulations, 1976. 2. The Medical Preparations (Control of Sale) Regulations, 1966 ( S.I. No. 261 of 1966 ) are hereby amended by— ( a ) the substitution in Part A of the First Schedule of "(not being a substance intended solely for external use)" for "(not being a substance intended solely for external use or a progesterone preparation for use solely in the treatment of sheep fertility or stilboestrol and its esters)", ( b ) the insertion in Part B of the First Schedule of the following— "Adrenaline; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Dichloralphenazone. Diphenoxylate; its salts; in preparations containing, per dosage unit, not more than 2.5 mg. of diphenoxylate calculated as base and a quantity of atropine sulphate equivalent to at least one per cent of the dose of diphenoxylate. Isoprenaline; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Loperamide; its salts. Orciprenaline; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Pentazocine; its salts. Phenacetin. Rimiterol; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Salbutamol; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Steroid compounds with adrenocortical or androgenic or oestrogenic or progestational activity; their esters; when contained in preparations intended solely for external use. Terbutaline; its salts; when contained in aerosol dispensers. Triclofos Sodium.". 3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of May, 1976. The effect of these Regulations is to extend the list of preparations, specified in the Medical Preparations (Control of Sale) Regulations, 1966 ( S.I. No. 261 of 1966 ), which may be sold by retail only on prescription.
