FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 12) WARRANT 1977. I, CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN, Minister for Posts and Telegraphs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 , 3 and 6 of the Post Office (Amendment) Act, 1969 , (No. 18 of 1969), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby order as follows:— 1.

(1)This Warrant may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 12) Warrant, 1977.
(2)This Warrant shall come into operation on the 25th day of July,
  1. In this Warrant "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ).

  2. ii)of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution of "1.05 m" and "80 mm." for "3 feet 6 inches" and "3 inches", respectively. 4. The First Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 8) Warrant, 1971 ( S.I. No. 199 of 1971 )) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Warrant. 5. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 11) Warrant, 1977 ( S.I. No. 50 of 1977 )) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Warrant. 6. Part I of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 7 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 10) Warrant, 1975 ( S.I. No. 316 of 1975 )) of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Warrant. FIRST SCHEDULE. "Maximum Dimensions: Length, 1.05 m; length and girth combined, 2 metres. (The girth to be measured round the thickest part. Minimum Dimensions: Length, 140 mm; width, 90 mm. In roll form, length and twice diameter, 170 mm; greatest dimensions, not less than 100 mm. Maximum Weight ... ... ... ... ... 10 kg." SECOND SCHEDULE. "Maximum Postage: Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel) £12 for a parcel not exceeding 10 kg. Air Mail parce ... ... ...l £2 per 250 g." THIRD SCHEDULE. "Part I (Uninsured Parcels) Weight of Parcel Compensation Not over 5 kg. £7.20 Not over 10 kg. £10.80 GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 1st day of July, 1977. CONOR CRUISE O'BRIEN. The Minister for Finance hereby consents to the provisions of the foregoing Warrant. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Finance, this 1st day of July, 1977. RICHIE RYAN. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Warrant applies to the Foreign Parcel Post service and comes into operation on the 25th July, 1977. It substitutes metric weights and measurements for those hitherto in use, and makes certain adjustments in charges.
