CONTROL OF EXPORTS (SOUTHERN RHODESIA) ORDER, 1978. I, DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (No. 18 of 1947), section 2 of the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (No. 1 of 1956 ) (which Act is continued in force by the Control of Exports (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1956 (Continuance) Act, 1971 (No. 5 of 1971)), the Agricultural and Fishery Porducts (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 ( S.I. No. 52 of 1956 ) (as amended by the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export) Act, 1947 (Transfer of Powers) Order, 1956 (Amendment) Order, 1963 ( S.I. No. 21 of 1963 )), and the Industry and Commerce (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 306 of 1977 ), and after consultation with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, hereby order as follows: 1.

(1)This Order may be cited as the Control of Exports (Southern Rhodesia) Order, 1978.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 25th day of June,
  1. The exportation to Southern Rhodesia of any goods to which this Order applies is hereby prohibited save under and in accordance with a licence.
  2. This Order applies to goods of a kind mentioned in the first column of the Schedule to the Imposition of Duties (No. 200) (Customs and Excise Duties and Form of Tariff) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1972 ), at any tariff code number, other than products to which the Agricultural and Fishery Products (Regulation of Export to Southern Rhodesia) Order, 1969 ( S.I. No. 105 of 1969 ), applies. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 13th day of June,
  3. DESMOND O'MALLEY, Minister for Industry, Commerceand Energy. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The effect of this Order is to enable the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy to control the export to Southern Rhodesia of the goods specified in the Order.
