No. 166 of 1978. BRUCELLOSIS IN CATTLE (MOVEMENT CONTROL) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1978. I, JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture, it appearing to me to be necessary for the purpose of the progressive eradication of brucellosis in cattle, hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 and 20 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) Order, 1978.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of July, 1978.
(3)The Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1973 ( S.I. No. 132 of 1973 ), the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) Order, 1976 ( S.I. No. 281 of 1976 ) and this Order may be cited together as the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Orders, 1973 to
- The Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1973, as amended by the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) (Amendment) Order, 1976, is hereby amended by— ( a ) the substitution of the following definition for the definition of "the area" in Article 2: " 'the area' means the area mentioned in paragraph (a) of Article 3
(1)of this Order, the area mentioned in paragraph (b) of the said Article 3
(1)or the area mentioned in paragraph (c) of the said Article 3
(1);" and ( b ) the substitution of the following paragraph for paragraph
(1)of Article 3: "
(1)The provisions of the Order shall apply to: ( a ) such area as consists of the administrative counties of Clare and Galway, that part of the administrative county of Limerick lying north of the River Shannon and that part of the county borough of Limerick lying north of the River Shannon, ( b ) such area as consists of the administrative county of Dublin, and ( c ) such area as consists of the administrative county of Kerry." GIVEN under my Official Seal this 19th day of June, 1978. JAMES GIBBONS, Minister for Agriculture. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Order by amending the Brucellosis in Cattle (Movement Control) Order, 1973 extends the provisions of that Order to County Kerry.
