HOUSING REGULATIONS, 1980 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1981. The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Housing Act, 1966 (No. 21 of 1966) and by sections 4 , 9 , 10 and 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 (No. 27 of 1979), with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Regulations, 1980 (Amendment) Regulations, 1981. 2. In these Regulations: "the Regulations of 1980" means the Housing Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 296 of 1980 ). 3. Paragraph (
- b)of sub-article
(1)of article 11 of the Regulations of 1980 shall not apply in the case of a house in respect of which a subsidy is payable in accordance with article 67
(2)of the Regulations of
- The Regulations of 1980 are hereby amended by the substitution for article 61 of the following article— "61.
(1)Subject to sub-articles
(2),
(3)and
(4), a subsidy shall not exceed one-third of the annual loan charges incurred in the provision of the site.
(2)Where the site was provided before the 22nd day of November, 1972 the cost of provision shall be taken as not having exceeded £450.
(3)Where the site was provided on or after the 22nd day of November, 1972 and before the 1st day of August, 1978 the cost of provision shall be taken as not having exceeded £900.
(4)Where the site was provided on or after the 1st day of August, 1978 the cost of provision shall be taken as not having exceeded £1,500". 5. Subparagraph (
- ii)of paragraph (
- g)of article 64 of the Regulations of 1980 is hereby amended by the deletion of the word "and" after "50%" and by the addition to that subparagraph, after "45%", of the words "and in the case of the financial year 1981, 40%". 6.
(1)Sub-article
(1)of article 82 of the Regulations of 1980 is hereby amended by the substitution in paragraph (
- a)of "£25" for "£20" and by the substitution in paragraph (
- b)of "£25" for "£20" and "£6" for "£5".
(2)This article shall come into operation on the 2nd day of February,

- EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations make a number of amendments to the Housing Regulations,
- The main amendment is to increase, as from 2nd February, 1981, the amount of the fee to accompany an application to the Minister for the Environment for a certificate of reasonable value under section 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 . Another important amendment provides that 40% of the proceeds of houses purchased from a housing authority may be credited to the current revenue account of the authority.
