ROAD TRANSPORT ACTS (FEES) REGULATIONS, 1982. The Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1933 (No. 8 of 1933), section 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions), Order 1959 (No. 125 of 1959), and the Transport and Power (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1977 ), and the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister), Order 1980 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1980 ), and with the sanction of the Minister for Finance, hereby makes the following Regulations: 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport Acts (Fees) Regulations, 1982.
(2)These Regulations and the Road Transport Acts Regulations, 1933 to 1977, may be cited together as the Road Transport Acts Regulations, 1933 to
  2. The following Schedule is hereby substituted for the First Schedule (inserted by the Road Transport Acts (Fees) Regulations, 1977 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1977 )) to the Road Transport Acts, 1933, Regulations, 1955 ( S.I. No. 69 of 1955 ): "FIRST SCHEDULE FEES
(1)Merchandise Licence: (
  1. a)On application for a merchandise licence £20 (
  2. b)On application for the renewal of a merchandise licence £10 (
  3. c)On application for the transfer of a merchandise licence £20
(2)Vehicle Plates: (
  1. a)On application for a vehicle plate £20 (
  2. b)On application for the issue of a vehicle plate by way of replacement £20 (
  3. c)On application for a vehicle plate if the conditions set out in Article 4
(2)are complied with £2
(3)On application for an Order under Part V of the Act £4"
  1. The following Regulations are hereby substituted for Regulations 2 and 3 of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (Fees) Regulations, 1971 ( S.I. No. 183 of 1971 ): "
  2. The fee payable for inspection of the register established under section 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1971 (No. 8 of 1971), shall be £
  4. The fee payable for an entry in the register established under section 6 of the Road Transport Act, 1971 , shall be £1." GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Transport, this 20th day of August,

The effect of the Instrument is to increase the prescribed fees for the grant, renewal and transfer of Merchandise Licences, for the issue of vehicle plates, for inspection of the register of Merchandise Licences and for a copy of an entry in the said register.
