CORK PILOTAGE DISTRICT (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1983. WHEREAS the Cork Harbour Commissioners, as the Pilotage Authority for the Cork Pilotage District, have applied in writing to the Minister for Transport for the making of a pilotage order in relation to the Cork Pilotage District: NOW I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on my by section 7 of the Pilotage Act, 1913, and the Transport, Fuel and Power (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1959 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1959 ), and the Tourism and Transport (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1980 ( S.I. No. 11 of 1980 ), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Cork Pilotage District (Amendment) Order, 1983. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Order. 3.
(1)The Cork Pilotage District Order, 1920 (being the Order contained in the Pilotage Orders Confirmation (No. 2) Act, 1920) is hereby amended by the substitution of "Three" for "Two" in subparagraph (b) of Article 4
(1)and the said subparagraph (b), as so amended, is set out in the Table to this Article.
(2)Paragraph
(1)of this Article shall have effect as respects the election referred to in the said subparagraph (b) to be held in the year 1983 and as respects the membership of the committee referred to in the said Article 4
(1)as on and from the time at which, consequent on that election, three persons become members of that committee by virtue of subparagraphs
(7)and
(8)of paragraph 2 of the Schedule to the said Order. TABLE Three members elected in manner hereinafter provided by the pilots licensed for the Pilotage District (hereinafter referred to as "the licensed pilots") from among persons who either are or have been licensed pilots for the district and who have not been dismissed or suspended from the service. GIVEN under my Official Seal this 25th day ofMay 1983. JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Transport. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Order alters the constitution of the Pilotage Committee of the Cork Pilotage Authority by increasing from two to three the number of pilot members.
