ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF DUBLIN AND COUNTY OF DUBLIN) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1983. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983.
(2)The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1977 to 1982 and these regulations shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1977 to 1983. 2. In these Regulations:— "The Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1977 ( S.I. No. 358 of 1977 ). 3. The First Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended as follows:— (
  1. i)by the substitution at reference 2 (
  2. i)of "148" for" 183", (
  3. ii)by the addition of the following matter at reference 2 — "(
  4. z)The Santry By-Pass.". 4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations, as amended by the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) (Amendment) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 330 of 1982 ), is hereby amended by the insertion in the first paragraph at reference 3 (
  5. a)after the words "other than" of the words "the Santry By-Pass between the boundary of the county borough of Dublin and a point 100 metres south of its junction with the New Coolock Lane and". 5. The Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended as follows:— (
  6. i)by the deletion of the matter at reference 4 (ee), (
  7. ii)by the deletion of the matter at reference 4 (ooo), (iii) by the substitution at reference 4 (cccc) of "148" for "183", (
  8. iv)by the addition of the following matter at reference 4— "(jjjj) The Santry By-Pass between its junction with the Swords Road and a point 6 metres north of a point on the road directly beneath the northern face of the bridge carrying the over-pass road connecting the Swords Road with the Ellenfield Road.". These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1977 to 1982 to alter the speed limits applicable to certain roads in County Dublin and to extend speed limit control to the Santry By-Pass.
