No. 234 of 1983. DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS AND HOURS) ORDER, 1983. I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), and after consultation with the President of the District Court, hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) Order, 1983.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of September,
- In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).
- The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Kilkenny shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column
(4)at reference number 131 in the First Schedule to, and in column
(4)at reference number 115 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order (as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 236 of 1972 )), be the first, second, third and fourth Tuesday in each month at 11 a.m. 4. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Graiguenamanagh shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column
(4)at reference number 130 in the First Schedule to, and in column
(4)at reference number 114 in the Second Schedule to, the Principal Order, be the first Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 11 a.m. 5. The days and hours for holding the District Court in the district court area of Waterford shall, in lieu of the days and hours specified in column
(4)at reference number 245 in the First Schedule to the Principal Order [as amended by the District Court Areas (Variation of Days and Hours) (No. 3) Order, 1972 ( S.I. No. 236 of 1972 )] , be each Thursday and Friday at 10.30 a.m., Fourth Thursday in each month at 10.30 a.m. (Children's Court only). 6. The day and hour for holding the District Court in the district court area of Waterford shall, in lieu of the day and hour specified in column
(4)at reference number 210 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order, be the fourth Wednesday in each month at 10.30 a.m. 7. The Principal Order is hereby amended in the First Schedule thereto in column
(4)at reference number 127 and in the Second Schedule thereto in column
(4)at reference number 111, by the deletion of "Fourth Wednesday in January, March, May, July, September and November at 11 a.m.".
- Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated but not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 28th day of July,

This Order provides for additional sittings of the District Court in Waterford and Kilkenny and a reduction in the number of sittings of the District Court in Callan and Graiguenamanagh.
