AmendmentsLeasuithe I, PADDY O'TOOLE, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, after consultation with the Minister for Agriculture, the Minister for Transport and the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland, being satisfied that the land specified in Article 2 of the following Order, being land to which section 15 of the Wildlife Act, 1976 (No. 39 of 1976), applies, includes woodland and lake ecosystems which are of scientific interest and that the said ecosystems are likely to benefit if measures are taken for their protection and that it is desirable to establish the said land as a nature reserve and that the proper management of the land as a nature reserve would not be precluded by any interest of any other person in or over the said land, for the purpose of conserving the said ecosystems do hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 15 of the said Act, as adapted by the Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1978 ), order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Nature Reserve (Coole—Garryland) Establishment Order, 1983.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 29th day of December, 1983. 2.
(1)It is hereby declared that the land specified in paragraph
(2)of this Article shall constitute and there is hereby established a nature reserve.
(2)The land referred to in paragraph
(1)of this Article is all that part of the land known as Coole Park and Garryland Wood situate in the townlands of Coole Demesne, Garryland and Doonowen in the county of Galway and which is referred to in the map contained in the Schedule to this Order and delineated in red other than— ( a ) the parts thereof which are both hatched in and delineated in black, and ( b ) any part thereof which forms part of a public road (if any) provided after the making of this Order. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 14th day of December, 1983. PADDY O'TOOLE, Minister for Fisheries and Forestry. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This order establishes part of the lands situate in the townlands of Coole Demesne, Garryland and Doonowen, Co. Galway, as a nature reserve so that it can be managed in such a way as to ensure the conservation of the woodland and lake ecosystems which it constitutes.
