REDUNDANCY CERTIFICATE REGULATIONS, 1984. I, RUAIRÍ QUINN, Minister for Labour, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 18 (as amended by the Redundancy Payments Act, 1971 (No. 20 of 1971)) and 58 (as amended by the Redundancy Payments Act, 1979 (No. 7 of 1979)) of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 (No. 21 of 1967), hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Redundancy Certificate Regulations, 1984, and shall come into operation on the 3rd day of September, 1984. 2. A redundancy certificate shall be in the form set out in the Schedule to these Regulations and shall contain— (
  4. a)the appropriate particulars referred to in that form, (
  5. b)a declaration or declarations (as appropriate) by the employer concerned in the terms set out in that form, and (
  6. c)a receipt, if appropriate, in the terms set out in that form, by the employee concerned for the lump sum payment referred to in that form. 3. An employer who fails to comply with these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £50. 4. The Redundancy Certificate Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 112 of 1979 ), are hereby revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal this 21st day of August, 1984. RUAIRÍ QUINN, Minister for Labour.' EXPLANATORY NOTE. The purpose of these regulations is to require employers when giving a redundancy certificate under the Redundancy Payments Acts to use the form (R.P. 2) provided by the Minister for this purpose and to furnish the appropriate declarations in the form. A penalty for failure to comply with these regulations is also specified.
