EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (DISTRIBUTION OF IRON AND STEEL PRODUCTS) REGULATIONS, 1982 (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1984. I, JOHN BRUTON, Minister for Industry, Trade, commerce and Tourism in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Recommendation No. 1946/84/ECSC1 of the 6th day of July, 1984, hereby make the following regulations: 1 O.J. No. L180, 7 July 1984,p.28. 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Distribution of Iron and Steel Products) Regulations, 1982 (Amendment) Regulations, 1984. 2. These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into operation on the 30th day of June, 1984. 3. The European Communities (Distribution of Iron and Steel Products) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 371 of 1982 ), are hereby amended by the substitution in Regulation 1
(2)for "30th day of June, 1984" of "31st day of December, 1985". GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 24th day of August,
- JOHN BRUTON, Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations renew the European Communities (Distribution of Iron and Steel Products) Regulations, 1982 for a further period from 30 June 1984 until 31 December
- The Regulations give effect to Commission Recommendation No. 1946/84/ECSC which extends the period of application of Commission Recommendation No. 1835/81/ECSC as amended by Commission Recommendation No. 1518/82/ECSC until 31 December
- The Regulations provide for an obligation on distributive undertakings in the steel trade to publish price lists and conditions of sale and to refrain from prohibited trading practices. The Regulations are in accordance with Section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 .
