AmendmentsLeasuithe S.I. No. 227 of 1984. GREYHOUND RACE TRACK (TOTALISATOR) (OPERATING) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1984. Bord na gCon in exercise of the powers conferred on it by sub-section (iii) of Section 40 and by sub-section (iii) of Section 5 of the Greyhound Industry Act, 1958 (No. 12 of 1958), hereby makes the following regulations, that is to say:—
(1)These regulations may be cited as the Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operating) (Amendment) Regulations, 1984.
(2)The Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operating) Regulations, 1971 (No. 47 of 1971) are hereby amended as follows:— (
- i)by the deletion of sub-article (
- b)of Article 45 and Articles 46, 55 and 72; (
- ii)by the deletion of Article 8 thereof and the substitution therefor of an Article in the following terms:— "8. Otherwise than in a double or multiple event all bets staked in a race not run or declared a 'no race' shall be returnable in full"; (iii) by the deletion of the word "Races" at the conclusion of sub-article (
- a)of Article 45 and the substitution therefor of the words "Race" or "Races"; (
- iv)by the deletion of the word "Races" at the conclusion of Articles 54 and 71 and the substitution therefor of the word ""Race" or ""Races".
(3)These regulations shall come into operation on the 10th day of September, 1984. GIVEN under the Seal of Bord na gCon this 28th day of August, 1984. Signed: PATRICK O'NEILL, Chairman of the Board. The effect of these regulations is to amend the Greyhound Race Track (Totalisator) (Operation) Regulations, 1971, to allow— (
- i)in single event pools for a refund of the pools where a race is not run or declared a "no race", and (
- ii)in multiple event pools for the declaration of a dividend where only one race is run in a pool.
