DISTRICT COURT AREAS (VARIATION OF DAYS, HOURS, AREAS AND DISTRICTS) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1984. I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 26 of the Courts of Justice Act, 1953 (No. 32 of 1953), hereby order as follows: 1.

(1)This Order may be cited as the District Court Areas (Variation of Days, Hours, Areas and Districts) (Amendment) Order, 1984.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of November,
  2. In this Order "the Principal Order" means the District Court (Areas) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 5 of 1961 ).
  3. The District Court Area of Rathmore mentioned at reference number 115 in the First Schedule to the Principal Order and reference number 100 in the Second Schedule to the Principal Order and reference number 17 in the Schedule to the District Court Areas (Amendment) Order, 1970 ( S.I. No. 161 of 1970 ) is hereby abolished.
  4. The District Court Area of Millstreet is hereby varied by the addition of the District Electoral Division of Knocknagree and, accordingly, the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion in column
(5)at reference number 48 in the First Schedule and in column
(5)at reference number 43 in the Second Schedule, after "Kilcorney" of "Knocknagree". 5. The District Court Area of Killarney is hereby varied by the addition of the District Electoral Divisions of Coom, Doocarrig and Rathmore and, accordingly, the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion in column
(5)at reference number 112 in the First Schedule and in column
(5)at reference number 97 in the Second Schedule after "Muckross" of "Coom, Doocarrig, Rathmore". 6. The First Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion in column
(4)at reference number 112 of "and First Thursday" before "in each month at 11 a.m.". 7. The Second Schedule to the Principal Order is hereby amended by the insertion in column
(4)at reference number 97 of "and First Thursday" before "in each month at 11 a.m.". 8. The District Court (Districts) Order, 1961 ( S.I. No. 6 of 1961 ), is hereby amended— ( a ) in the First Schedule thereto, by the deletion in column
(3)at reference number 17 of "Rathmore,", and ( b ) in the Second Schedule thereto, by the deletion in column
(3)at reference number 17 of "Rathmore,".
  1. Business transacted in the District Court which is initiated and not completed before the commencement of this Order shall be continued and completed as if this Order had been in force at the time at which such business had been initiated. This Order provides for the abolition of the District Court Area of Rathmore, and the amalgamation of the District Electoral Divisions of Rathmore, Coom and Doocarrig with the District Court area of Killarney and the amalgamation of the District Electoral Division of Knocknagree with the District Court area of Millstreet. The Order also provides for a variation of the present arrangements for the holding of sittings of the District Court in Killarney.
