The Minister for the Environment, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 5 of the Housing Act, 1966 (No. 21 of 1966) and by sections 4 and 18 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 (No. 27 of 1979), hereby makes the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Housing Regulations, 1980 (Amendment) Regulations, 1984. 2. Articles 10 and 78 of the Housing Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 296 of 1980 ) are hereby revoked. 3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of March, 1984. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment, this 22nd day of February, 1984. LIAM KAVANAGH, Minister for the Environment. EXPLANATORY NOTE. The Regulations terminate the application of the Certificate of Reasonable Value system to housing grants and house purchase loans from lending agencies. The system will continue to have effect in relation to applications for tax relief under sections 23 and 24 of the Finance Act, 1981 and sections 29 and 30 of the Finance Act, 1983 .
