Amendment of European Communities Act, 1972. 2. Short title, Collective citation and commencement. Acts Referred to European Communities Act, 1972 1972, No. 27 European Communities Acts, 1972 to 1979 European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1979 1979, No. 32 Number 1 of 1985 EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1985 AN ACT TO AMEND THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES ACT, 1972 , SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE TREATY PROVIDING THAT EACH OF THE TREATIES ESTABLISHING THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (WITHIN THE MEANING OF THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES ACT, 1972 ) SHALL CEASE TO APPLY TO GREENLAND AND INTRODUCING NEW ARRANGEMENTS GOVERNING RELATIONS BETWEEN THE SAID COUNTRIES AND GREENLAND SHALL BE PART OF THE DOMESTIC LAW OF THE STATE. [23rd January, 1985] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: Amendment of European Communities Act, 1972. 1.—The European Communities Act, 1972 , is hereby amended by the insertion, in the definition of “the treaties governing the European Communities” in section 1
(1), after paragraph (
- k)(inserted by the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1979 ) of the following paragraph: “and (
- l)the Treaty amending, with regard to Greenland, the Treaties establishing the European Communities, signed at Brussels on the 12th day of March, 1984”. Short title, collective citation and commencement. 2.—
(1)This Act may be cited as the European Communities (Amendment) Act, 1985.
(2)The European Communities Acts, 1972 to 1979, and this Act may be cited together as the European Communities Acts, 1972 to 1985.
(3)This Act shall come into operation on such date as the Minister for Foreign Affairs appoints by order.
