FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (NO. 19) SCHEME, 1985. AN POST, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 70 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act. 1983, and with consent of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Scheme: 1. (
- i)This Scheme may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 19) Scheme, 1985. (
- ii)This Scheme shall be operative with effect from the 25th day of February, 1985. 2. In this Scheme— "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ); "Warrant No. 17" means the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 17) Warrant, 1982 ( S.I. No. 60 of 1982 ). 3. The third proviso of Regulation 22 of the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for "four hundred pounds" of "one thousand pounds". 4. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 3 of Warrant No. 17) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Scheme. 5. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of Warrant No. 17) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Scheme. 6. Part I (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 16) Warrant, 1981 ( S.I. No. 308 of 1981 )) and Part II (inserted by Regulation 5 of Warrant No. 17) of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant are hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Scheme. 7. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 6 of Warrant No. 17) by the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Scheme. 8. The Schedule to the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 18) Warrant, 1983 ( S.I. No. 18 of 1983 ) is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein of the entries in the Fifth Schedule to this Scheme. FIRST SCHEDULE " Maximum Postage: Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel or unbagged containerised parcel): £38 for a parcel not exceeding 10 kg. Unbagged containerised parcel: (

- b)containerised by customer: £3.25 per kg. £3.25 per kg. on the total capacity of a 40 foot container, less £180 Air Mail Parcel: £7 per 250g. SECOND SCHEDULE " Customs Clearance Fee: On each parcel where customs duty is payable: Outgoing Express Delivery Fee: Advice of Delivery Fee on outgoing insured parcel: £1.00 50p 30p THIRD SCHEDULE " PART I (Uninsured Parcels) Weight of Parcel Compensation Not over 5 kg: Not over 10 kg: £20 £30 Part II (Outgoing insured parcels) Compensation Fee Compensation p £ 10 100 20 200 30 300 40 400 50 500 60 600 70 700 80 800 90 900 100 1,000 " FOURTH SCHEDULE " Cash-on-Delivery Parcels: Cash-on-Delivery Fee: £2.25 on outgoing parcel " FIFTH SCHEDULE " Maximum Postage Surface Air Lifted parcel (except parcel bagged by customer): £5.25 for a parcel not exceeding 1 kilogramme in weight together with £1.65 for each 500 grammes or fraction of 500 grammes in excess of 1 kilogramme. Surface Air Lifted parcel bagged by customer: £4.50 per kilogramme. " GIVEN under the Common Seal of An Post this 22nd day of February 1985. This Scheme applies to the Foreign Parcel Post Service and comes into operation on 25th February, 1985. It authorises increases in the maximum postage which may be charged on foreign parcels and in the fees charged for insurance, customs clearance, cash-on-delivery and advice of delivery. It also authorises increases in compensation for insured and uninsured parcels and a reduction in the Express delivery fee.
