OMBUDSMAN ACT, 1980 (SECOND SCHEDULE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1985. I, JOHN BOLAND, Minister for the Public Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4

(10)of the Ombudsman Act, 1980 (No. 26 of 1980), and with the consent of— ( a ) in so far as it relates to the National Concert Hall Company, the Taoiseach, ( b ) in so far as it relates to the Irish Film Board, the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism, ( c ) in so far as it relates to local authorities, the Fire Prevention Council, the Local Government Computer Services Board, the Local Government Staff Negotiations Board, the National Road Safety Association and bodies established under the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act. 1971 (No. 6 of 1971), the Fire Services Council and the Housing Finance Agency, the Minister for the Environment, ( d ) in so far as it relates to the Central Fisheries Board, the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry, ( e ) in so far as it relates to health boards and the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board, the Minister for Health, and ( f ) in so far as it relates to the Youth Employment Agency, the Minister for Labour, hereby order as follows: 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Ombudsman Act, 1980 (Second Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1985.
(2)This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1985, but shall not affect investigations of the Ombudsman made pursuant to complaints made before that day to him. 2. The Second Schedule to the Ombudsman Act, 1980 , is hereby amended by— ( a ) the deletion of the following: (
  1. i)"The Fire Prevention Council", (
  2. ii)"Local Government Computer Services Board", (iii) "Local Government Staff Negotiations Board", (
  3. iv)"National Road Safety Association", and (
  4. v)"Local Authorities", ( b ) the insertion of the following: (
  5. i)"Bodies established under the Local Government Services (Corporate Bodies) Act, 1971 ", (
  6. ii)"Central Fisheries Board", (iii) "Fire Services Council", (
  7. iv)"Housing Finance Agency", (
  8. v)"Irish Film Board", (
  9. vi)"National Concert Hall Company", (vii) "Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board", (viii) "Youth Employment Agency", and ( c ) the substitution for "Bodies set up under the Health Acts" of "Bodies (other than health boards) established by or under the Health Acts, 1947 to 1981". The Taoiseach hereby consents to the making of the foregoing Order in so far as it relates to the National Concert Hall Company. This Order, which comes into effect on 1 April, 1985, deletes health boards and local authorities from the Second Schedule to the Ombudsman Act, 1980 and places the following bodies in the Second Schedule: the Irish Water Safety Association; the Central Fisheries Board; the Fire Services Council; the Housing Finance Agency; the Irish Film Board; the National Concert Hall Company; the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Board; the Youth Employment Agency. Bodies listed in the Second Schedule to the Ombudsman Act, 1980 are not subject to investigation by the Ombudsman.
