DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACT, 1966 (FIRST SCHEDULE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1986 I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 and 11 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1977 ) hereby order as follows:— 1.
(1)This Order may be cited as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Order, 1986.
(2)The Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to 1980, and this Order may be cited together as the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First Schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to
- In this Order— "the Act" means the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966); "the First Schedule" means the First Schedule to the Act, as amended by the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (First schedule) (Amendment) Orders, 1968 to
- For the purpose of extending the application of sections 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 28, 42 and 58 of the Act, and all other sections (including sections relating to offences and legal proceedings) containing provisions relative to or consequent on those sections, the First Schedule is hereby amended by the insertion in Part III thereof at the end of Class A of the following: "23 Bluetongue 24 Vesicular Stomatitis".
- For all the purposes of the Act, the First Schedule is hereby amended by the insertion of, "swine, sheep and goats" after "cattle" in entry No. 3 of Part III, Class B, thereof. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 6th day of August,

This Order extends the definition of "disease" in the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 to include bluetongue, vesicular stomatitis and brucellosis in swine, sheep or goats.
