No. 315 of 1986. ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1933 (PART II) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1986. I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 6, 30
(7)(inserted by the Road Transport Act, 1978 ) (No. 8 of 1978), and 34
(1)of the Road Transport Act, 1933 (No. 8 of 1933), and the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 40 of 1983), hereby make the following Regulations:
- These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport Act, 1933 (Part II) (Amendment) Regulations,
- The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.
- The Road Transport Act, 1933 , (Part II) Regulations Order, 1933 (S. R. & O., No. 120 of 1933), is hereby amended by the substitution of the following for Regulations 9 and 10: "9.
(1)Every vehicle plate shall be in the pattern set out in the Third Schedule hereto and shall specify the particulars required to be specified by the form prescribed by Regulation 7.
(2)Every vehicle shall have a measurement of 8 centimetres square.
(3)( a ) Every vehicle plate shall be of durable non-tear material (such as Tyvek or a similar substance) with a white background. ( b ) The vehicle plate for issue to the holder of a merchandise licence confined to national haulage shall have a green triangle inset. ( c ) The vehicle plate for issue to the holder of a merchandise licence permitting international haulage shall have a red triangle inset with "I" in light green colouring within the triangle area.
(10)Every vehicle shall be carried in a conspicuous position on the windscreen of the vehicle in such manner that it shall be visible and readily accessible for insptecion, and be so located that it does not obscure the vision of the driver while the vehicle is being driven.".
- The Road Transport Act, 1933 , (Part II) Regulations Order, 1933, is hereby amended by the substitution of the following Schedule for the Third Schedule: THIRD SCHEDULE PATTERN OF VEHICLE PLATES GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 18th day of September,

(7)of the Road Transport Act, 1933 as amended by Section 7
(2)of the Road Transport Act, 1978 .
