No. 356 of 1986. MAJOR ACCIDENT HAZARDS (LOCAL COMPETENT AUTHORITIES) ORDER, 1986. The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Article 5 of the European Communities (Major Accident Hazards of Certain Industrial Activities) Regulations, 1986, ( S.I. No. 292 of 1986 ) hereby orders as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Major Accident Hazards (Local Competent Authorities) Order, 1986. 2. Each Health Board established under the Health Act, 1970 (No. 1 of 1970) shall be, in respect of its functional area under that Act, a local competent authority for the purpose of the European Communities (Major Accident Hazards of Certain Industrial Activities) Regulations, 1986 and Article 7 of Council Directive 82/501/EEC of 24th June, 1982.* * O.J.
