FOREIGN PARCEL POST AMENDMENT (No. 21) SCHEME, 1986. AN POST, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 70 of the Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983), and with the consent of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Scheme: 1. (
- i)This Scheme may be cited as the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 21) Scheme, 1986. (
- ii)This Scheme shall be operative with effect from the 3rd day of March, 1986. 2. In this Scheme— "the Principal Warrant" means the Foreign Parcel Post Warrant, 1953 ( S.I. No. 418 of 1953 ). "Scheme No. 19" means the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 19) Scheme, 1985 ( S.I. No. 140 of 1985 ). 3. The Second Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 4 of Scheme No. 19) of the entries in the First Schedule to this Scheme. 4. The Third Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 5 of the Scheme No. 19) of the entries in the Second Schedule to this Scheme. 5. Part I of the Fourth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulations 6 of Scheme No. 19) of the entries in the Third Schedule to this Scheme. 6. The Fifth Schedule to the Principal Warrant is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 7 of Scheme No. 19) of the entries in the Fourth Schedule to this Scheme. 7. The Schedule to the Foreign Parcel Post Amendment (No. 18) Warrant, 1983 ( S.I. No. 257 of 1983 ), is hereby amended by the substitution for the entries therein (inserted by Regulation 8 of Scheme No. 19) of the entries in the Fifth Schedule to this Scheme. FIRST SCHEDULE. " Maximum Postage: Parcel (except an Air Mail parcel or unbagged containerised parcel): £38 for a parcel not exceeding 10 kg. Unbagged containerised parcel: (
- a)containerised by An Post: £3.25 per kg. (
- b)containerised by customer: (
- i)£3.25 per kg on the total capacity of a 40 foot container, less £180. (
- ii)For a full 20 foot container: up to 2,500 Kg - £3.50 per Kg up to 3,000 Kg - £3.40 per Kg Air Mail Parcel: over 3,000 Kg - £3.25 per Kg £7 per 250g. SECOND SCHEDULE " Customs Clearance Fee: On each parcel where customs duty is payable: £1.10 Outgoing Express Delivery Fee: 55p Advice of Delivery Fee on outgoing insured parcel: 32p " THIRD SCHEDULE "Part I (Uninsured Parcels) Weight of Parcel Compensation Not over 5 kg: £30 Not over 10 kg: £45 FOURTH SCHEDULE " Cash-on-Delivery Parcels: Cash-on-Delivery Fee: £2.40 on outgoing parcel FIFTH SCHEDULE " Maximum Postage: £5.50 for a parcel not exceeding 1 kilogramme in weight together with £1.75 for each 500 grammes or fraction of 500 grammes in excess of 1 kilogramme. Surface airlifted parcel (except prcel bagged by customer): Surface airlifted parcel bagged by customer: £4.70 per kilogramme. " GIVEN under the Common Seal of An Post this 28th day of February 1986. This scheme applies to the Foreign Parcel Post Service and comes into operation on 3rd March, 1986. It authorises increases in the maximum postage which may be charged on foreign parcels and in the fees charged for insurance, customs clearance, cash on delivery, express delivery and advice of delivery. It also authorises increases in compensation for uninsured parcels.
