STOCK TRANSFER (FORMS) REGULATIONS, 1987. I, RAY MACSHARRY, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 5 of the Stock Transfer Act, 1963 (No. 34 of 1963), as amended by section 8 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1977 (No. 31 of 1977), hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Stock Transfer (Forms) Regulations, 1987. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 30th day of April, 1987. 3. The Stock Transfer Act, 1963 (No. 34 of 1963), is hereby amended by the insertion after paragraph (
  4. b)(inserted by the Stock Transfer (Forms) Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 139 of 1980 )) in the proviso to section 2

(1)of the following paragraph— "(c) in the case of an instrument in the forms set out in Parts I and II of the Schedule to the Stock Transfer (Forms) Regulations, 1987, and inserted in the First Schedule, or, as the case may be, the Second Schedule, to this Act, by Regulation 4 of those Regulations, the instrument shall not specify particulars of the consideration." 4.
(1)The First Schedule to the Stock Transfer Act, 1963 , is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the form set out in Part I of the Schedule to these Regulations for use in the case of a transfer of registered securities which are securities of the Government to which section 2 of that Act applies as an alternative to the stock transfer form set out in the said First Schedule.
(2)The Second Schedule to the Stock Transfer Act, 1963 , is hereby amended by the addition thereto of the form set out in Part II of the Schedule to these Regulations for use in the case of a transfer of registered securities which are securities of the Government to which section 2 of that Act applies as an alternative to the brokers transfer form set out in the said Second Schedule. These Regulations are made for the purpose of providing for the transfer of certain securities of the Government without including details of the consideration on the transfer forms. Prior to these regulations being made it was a legal requirement that details of consideration had to be entered on transfer forms. The ommission of consideration details will contribute to a more efficient system of transferring Government gilts by speeding up the processing of stock transfers. The two transfer forms which are part of the Regulations are the Stock Transfer Form and the Brokers Transfer Form. The former is for use where stock is being transferred to one investor only; the latter is for use in conunction with a Stock Transfer Form where the stock is being transferred to more than one investor.
