The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by article 5 of the European Communities (Major Accident Hazards of Certain Industrial Activities) Regulations, 1968 ( S.I. No. 292 of 1986 ) hereby orders as follows:— 1. This Order may be cited as the Major Accident Hazards (Local Competent Authorities) (No. 2) Order, 1987. 2. Each of the public authorities specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Order shall be a Local Competent Authority for the functional area appearing in the second column of the Schedule opposite each entry in the first column for the purposes of the European Communities (Major Accident Hazards of Certain Industrial Activities) Regulations, 1986 ( S.I.
