No. 218 of 1987. ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 (PART III) REGULATIONS, 1987. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 5 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 26 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (No. 19 of 1978) hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1987. 2. These Regulations and the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 (S.I. 193 of 1978) shall be construed as one and may be cited together as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 and 1987. 3. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 27th day of August, 1987. 4. The Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 as amended by the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 363 of 1983 ) are hereby amended by the substitution for the Second Schedule thereto of the following:— "SECOND SCHEDULE Certificate issued by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 . Particulars relating to specimen received for analysis, as shown on the form completed by designated registered medical practitioner:— 1. Name and address of person from whom the specimen was taken or who provided the specimen. ___________________ _____________________ _____________________ _____________________ 2. Nature of specimen. (Insert "blood" or "urine" as appropriate ____________________ 3. Garda station at which specimen was taken or provided. ______________________ 4. Date on which specimen was taken or provided. ______________________ 5. Time at which specimen was taken or provided. ______________________ The Medical Bureau of Road Safety certifies that on analysis by the Bureau the specimen to which the above particulars relate contained a concentration of ______________________ milligrammes or alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood or urine. (Delete whichever is not appropriate) Signature of person who carried out the analysis ______________________ Date ______________________ This Certificate is issued under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 . The seal of the Medical Bureau of Road Safety was affixed hereto this _______________ day of ___________ in the presence of ______________________ (Chairman or Director or deputy Director of the Bureau or member of the Bureau duly authorised by the Bureau to act in that behalf)." 5. The Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1983 are hereby revoked. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this 20th day of August, 1987. EXPLANATORY NOTE These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1978 (as previously amended by the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 (Part III) Regulations, 1983) so as to further revise the form of certificate to be issued by the Medical Bureau of Road Safety under section 22 of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 1978 .
