FLUORIDATION OF WATER SUPPLIES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1987. The Minister for Health in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 2 and 4 of the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act, 1960 (No. 46 of 1960) and having complied with subsection

(4)of section 2 of that Act and having consulted with the Minister for the Environment hereby makes the following Regulations:
  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Amendment) Regulations,
  3. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Cork) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 130 of 1965 ) as amended by the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Cork) (Amendment) Regulations, 1979 ( S.I. No. 129 of 1979 ) and the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Amendment) Regulations, 1986 ( S.I. No. 24 of 1986 ) are hereby amended as follows— (a) by the substitution of "to 36" for "to 34" in article 4
(8); (
  1. b)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraphs: "35. Glashaboy Regional piped water supply. 36. Mogeely/Castlemartyr piped water supply." 3. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Kerry) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 92 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows— (
  2. a)by the substitution of "to 17" for "to 11" in subarticle 4 of article 4; (
  3. b)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraphs: "12. Ardfert North/South piped water supply. 13. Central Kerry Regional piped water supply. 14. Dromin, Listowel piped water supply. 15. Inch Regional piped water supply. 16. Lyreacrompane, Listowel piped water supply. 17. Mid-Kerry piped water supply." 4. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Longford) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 96 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows— (
  4. a)by the substitution of the words "Longford Central Regional" for "Longford-Newtownforbes- Drumlish" in paragraph 1 of the First Schedule; (
  5. b)by the substitution of the words "Grandard Regional" for "Granard-Abbeylara" in paragraph 2 of the First Schedule; (
  6. c)by the substitution of the words "Ballymahon Regional" for "Ballymahon" in paragraph 5 of the First Schedule; (
  7. d)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraph: "6. Lough Gowna Regional piped water supply." 5. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Mayo) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 70 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows— (
  8. a)by the deletion of sub-articles
(1),
(2)and
(3)of article 4; (b) by the substitution of "to 14" for "to 9" in sub-article
(4)of article 4; (
  1. c)by the deletion from the First Schedule of the matter at references 1, 2 and 3; (
  2. d)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraphs: "10. The Lough Mask Regional piped water supply. 11. The Shrule piped water supply. 12. The Ballina Regional piped water supply. 13. The Belmullet Regional piped water supply. 14. Westport Regional piped water supply." 6. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Meath) Regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 71 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows: (
  3. a)by the substitution of "paragraphs 4 to 6" for "paragraph 4" in sub-article
(4)of article 4; (
  1. b)by the substitution of the words "Navan and Mid-Meath Regional" for "An Uaimh" in paragraph 1 of the First Schedule; (
  2. c)by the substitution of the words "Ceanannus Mór/Oldcastle" for "Ceanannus Mór" in paragraph 2 of the First Schedule; (
  3. d)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraphs: "5. Ballivor piped water supply. 6. Drumconrath piped water supply." 7. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Monaghan) regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 97 of 1965 ) are hereby amended as follows— (
  4. a)by the substitution of "paragraph 6" for "paragraph 5" in sub-article
(5)of article 4; (
  1. b)by the deletion from the First Schedule of the matter at reference 5; (
  2. c)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraph: "6. Lough Egish Regional piped water supply." 8. The Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Roscommon) regulations, 1965 ( S.I. No. 98 of 1965 ) as amended by the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Roscommon) (Amendment) Regulations, 1974 ( S.I. No. 338 of 1974 ) and by the Fluoridation of Water Supplies (Amendment) Regulations, 1986 ( S.I. No. 24 of 1986 ) are hereby amended as follows— (
  3. a)by the deletion from the First Schedule of the matter at reference 4; (
  4. b)by the addition to the First Schedule of the following paragraph: "13. North Roscommon Regional piped water supply." GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for Health this 9th day of March, 1987. JOHN BOLAND, Minister for Health. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations provide for the fluoridation of a further 18 public piped water supplies, in addition to those water supplies already fluoridated in accordance with previous regulations made under the Health (Fluoridation of Water Supplies) Act, 1960 . The appropriate health board is required to arrange for the fluoridation of the water supply while the local authority, acting as agent for the health board, fluoridates the water supply in each case.
