CONTROL OF DOGS ACT, 1986 (COMMENCEMENT) (No. 2) ORDER, 1987. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection

(2)of section 37 of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 (No. 32 of 1986), hereby orders as follows:—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order,
  3. In this Order— "the Act" means the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 .
  4. On the 1st day of April, 1987— (a) sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of the Act shall come into operation, (b) subsection
(5)of section 13 of the Act shall come into operation, (c) subsection
(1)and paragraphs (
  1. a)and (
  2. c)of subsection
(2)of section 27 of the Act shall come into operation, (d) subsection
(2)of section 30 of the Act shall come into operation. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this 13th day of March,
  1. PÁDRAIG FLYNN, Minister for the Environment. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Order brings the licensing provisions of the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 , into operation on 1st April,
  2. The Order, in conjunction with the Control of Dogs Act, 1986 (Commencement) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 16 of 1987 ), brings all provisions of the Act into effect.
