I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Decisions 88/36/EEC

(1)of 10 December 1987 and 88/127/EEC
(2)of 12 February 1988, hereby make the following Regulations:
(1)O.J. No. L 20 of 26.1.88.
(2)O.J. No. L 63 of 9.3.88 and O.J. No. L 103 of 22.4.88. 1.
(1)These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Introduction of Organisms Harmful to Plants or Plant Products) (Prohibition) (Amendment) Regulations, 1988.
(2)The European Communities (Introduction of Organisms Harmful to Plants or Plant Products) (Prohibition) Regulations, 1980 to 1987, and these Regulations may be cited together as the European Communities (Introduction of Organisms Harmful to Plants or Plant Products) (Prohibition) Regulations, 1980 to 1988. 2.
(1)The European Communities (Introduction of Organisms Harmful to Plants or Plant Products) (Prohibition) Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 125 of 1980 ), are hereby amended by the insertion between paragraphs
(2)and
(3)of Regulation 11 of the following paragraph: "(2A)
(1)A person shall not introduce into the State— ( a ) potato tubers originating in Denmark, unless they comply with the conditions of Article 1 of Commission Decision 88/36/EEC; ( b ) potato tubers originating in the Federal Republic of Germany, unless they comply with the conditions of paragraph 2 of Article 1 of Commission Decision 88/127/EEC.
(2)The requirements of this paragraph are in addition to and not in substitution for the requirements of paragraphs
(1)and
(2)of this Regulation.".
(2)This Regulation shall cease to have effect on the 30th day of June,
  2. The European Communities (Potato Ring Rot) Regulations, 1987 ( S.I. No. 47 of 1987 ), are hereby revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 7th day of July,
