I, MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 2 of the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Act, 1988 (No. 18 of 1988), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Act, 1988 (Establishment Day) Order, 1988. 2. The 8th day of September 1988, is hereby appointed to be the establishment day for the purposes of the Agriculture (Research, Training and Advice) Act, 1988 (No. 18 of 1988). GIVEN under my Official Seal this 5th day of September 1988. MICHAEL O'KENNEDY, Minister for Agriculture and Food. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This Order appoints 8 September, 1988 as the day on which Teagasc — The Agriculture and Food Development Authority — is established. From that date Teagasc will take over the functions of An Fóras Talúntais and An Chomhairle Oiliúna Talmhaíochta which along with county committees of agriculture, established by the Agriculture Act, 1931 , will be dissolved.
