(9)of the Housing Act, 1988 (No. 28 of 1988), hereby orders as follows:—
- This Order may be cited as the Housing Act, 1988 (Commencement) Order,
- Section 30
(1)of the Housing Act, 1988 a nd the Schedule to that Act shall come into operation on the 19th day of August, 1988 for the purpose of effecting the repeal of the enactments specified in Column
(2)of the Schedule to this Order to the extent specified in Column
(3)of that Schedule. 3. Sections 1 , 6 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20

(4), 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 27 , 28 , 30

(8). GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Environment this 10th day of August, 1988. PADRAIG FLYNN, Minister for the Environment. EXPLANATORY NOTE. This order brings into operation with effect from 19th August, 1988 the provisions of sections 1 , 6 , 13 , 17 , 18 , 19 , 20
(2), 20
(3), 20
(4), 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 27 , 28 , 30 and 31 of the Housing Act, 1988 . A number of provisions of the Labourer's Act, 1936, the Housing Act, 1966 and the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 are repealed to the extent specified in the schedule. In addition, Section 13 of the Housing (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1979 is repealed by virtue of the commencement of Section 23. Section 23 also provides for transitional arrangements consequent on the repeal of Section 13 of the 1979 Act. Section 12 of the Housing Act, 1988 is deemed to have come into operation on 2nd October, 1984 by virtue of subsection
(7)of that Section.
