No. 137 of 1989. INDUSTRIAL TRAINING (ENGINEERING COMMITTEE) (AMENDMENT) ORDER, 1989. An Foras Aiseanna Saothair, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 24 of the Industrial Training Act, 1967 (No. 5 of 1967), and Section 4

(2)of the Labour Services Act 1987 (No. 15 of 1987), hereby makes the following order:—
  1. This Order may be cited as the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order,
  3. In this Order "the Order of 1969" means the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order,
  5. The Order of 1969 and this Order may be cited together as the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Orders 1969 and
  7. The Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1975, the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1981, and the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) (Amendment) Order, 1982 are hereby revoked.
  8. Article 3 of the Order of 1969 is hereby amended by the substitution of "sixteen ordinary members" for "eighteen ordinary members".
  9. The following Article is hereby substituted for Article 5 of the Order of 1969:— "
  10. The ordinary members of the Committee shall include seven workers' members, seven employers' members, one educational member and one other ordinary member."
  11. Article 6 (b) of the Order of 1969 is hereby amended by the substitution of "seven persons" for "eight persons".
  12. Article 8 of the Order of 1969 is hereby amended by the substitution of "eight members" for "six members".
  13. This Order shall come into operation on 15th June
  14. GIVEN under the Seal of An Foras Aiseanna Saothair this 8th day of June,
  15. The Seal of An Foras Aiseanna Saothair was affixed in the presence of:— JOHN J. LYNCH, a member of An Foras Aiseanna Saothair authorised by An Foras Aiseanna Saothair to act in that behalf; and J. B. LEAHY, an officer of An Foras Aiseanna Saothair authorised by An Foras Aiseanna Saothair to act in that behalf. EXPLANATORY NOTE. An Foras Aiseanna Saothair (The Training and Employment Authority) was established under the Labour Services Act, 1987 as successor to An Chomhairle Oiliuna (The Industrial Training Authority). The Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969 made by An Chomhairle Oiliuna established an Industrial Training Committee, to be known as the Engineering Industry Training Committee, to advise and assist An Chomhairle Oiliuna, as respects the performance of its functions. All such functions have now been transferred to An Foras Aiseanna Saothair under the above mentioned Act. This Order amends the Industrial Training (Engineering Committee) Order, 1969 by decreasing the number of ordinary committee members to sixteen and increasing the quorum for a meeting of the Committee to eight.
