TELEPHONE (AMENDMENT) (No. 2) SCHEME, 1989. BORD TELECOM ÉIREANN, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 90, Postal and Telecommunications Services Act, 1983 (No. 24 of 1983) hereby makes the following Scheme: 1.

(1)This Scheme may be cited as the Telephone (Amendment) (No. 2) Scheme, 1989.
(2)The Telephone Schemes 1980 to 1989 and this Scheme may be cited together as the Telephone Schemes 1980 to 1989. 2. This Scheme shall come into operation on 1 October, 1989. 3. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to this Scheme. 4. In this Scheme "the Scheme of 1988" means the Telephone (Amendment) Scheme 1988 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1988 ). 5. The Telephone Regulations, 1980 ( S.I. No. 195 of 1980 ), are hereby amended by: ( a ) the substitution of the following Schedule for the Second Schedule thereto (inserted by paragraph 6 (
  1. d)of the Scheme of 1988): Regulations 10 and 10 A "SECOND SCHEDULE. Charges for Subscriber Dialled Trunk Calls (where the service is available). Per Period or part of a Period of Time specified in the Table to this Schedule appropriate to the Call. (
  2. a)to a subscriber without a coinbox: 11.17p (
  3. b)to a subscriber with a coinbox: 11.17p (
  4. c)for a caller from a coinbox exchange line: ... ... ... 20p for the first 10p for the second 15p for the third 15p for the fourth 10p for the fifth 15p for the sixth 10p for the seventh and the cycle from the third to the seventh periods repeated for subsequent periods. Reduced Rules: The reduced rate applies to calls made as follows: (
  7. i)at or after 6 p.m. and before 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday (inclusive) for calls described in Paragraph 1; (
  8. ii)all day on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays described in Paragraph 1. (iii) at or after 6 p.m. and before 12 p.m. from Monday to Friday (inclusive) for calls described in Paragraph 2. (
  9. iv)at or after 8 a.m. and before 12 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays; for calls described in Paragraph 2 and (
  10. v)such other times as Bord Telecom Éireann may from time to time announce by advertisement in the national morning daily newspapers. Economy Rate: The economy rate applies to calls described in Paragraph 2 made at or after 12 p.m. and before 8 a.m. everyday. Per period or part of a period of time specified in Table B to this Schedule appropriate to the calls. (
  11. d)for a caller from a call office 20p for the first 10p for the second 15p for the third 15p for the fourth 10p for the fifth 15p for the sixth 10p for the seventh and the cycle from the third to the seventh periods repeated for subsequent periods. Second Schedule — Table B Discription of Call Full Rate Reduced Rate 1. Between exchanges in the State and from exchanges in the State to exchanges in Northern Irealnd where the distance between Group Centres of exchanges concerned (

  15. ii)all day on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays; and (iii) such other times as Bord Telecom Éireann may from time to time announce by advertisement in the national morning daily newspapers. 3. For calls made at all times (except where otherwise stated) from exchanges in the State to exchanges in: (
  16. a)Andorra, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belgium, Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla, Denmark (including Faroe Islands), France, Germany (Federal Republic), Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Switzerland and Vatican City. (
  17. i)Full rate (from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Monday to Friday inclusive.) 11.00 seconds (
  18. ii)Reduced rate (from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday (inclusive) and throughout Saturday, Sunday, Public Holidays and such other times as Bord Telecom Éireann may from time to time announce by advertisement in the national morning daily newspapers. 14.60 seconds (
  19. b)Albania, Algeria, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, Finland, Germany (Democratic Republic), Gibraltar, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Norway, Poland, Roumania, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, U.S.S.R. and Yugoslavia. 7.56 seconds (
