FISHERY HARBOUR CENTRE (HOWTH) ORDER, 1989. The Minister for the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by subsection
(1)of section 2 of the Fishery Harbour Centres Act, 1968 (No. 18 of 1968), and the Fisheries (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 30 of 1977 ) (as adapted by the Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry (Alteration of Name of Department and title of Minister) Order, 1987 ( S.I. No. 82 of 1987 )), and after due compliance with subsection
(6)of the said section 2, hereby orders as follows:
- This Order may be cited as the Fishery Harbour Centre (Howth) Order, 1989 and shall come into operation on the 1st day of January
- In this Order "the Commissioners" means the Commissioners of Public Works in Ireland.
- The area defined in Article 4 of this Order is hereby declared to be a fishery harbour centre and is referred to in this Order as Howth Fishery Harbour Centre.
- That part of Howth Harbour and of the land adjoining it within the outer margin of the red line on the map annexed to this Order is hereby defined as the area of Howth Fishery Harbour Centre.
- All the property (real and personal) in Howth Fishery Harbour Centre of the Commissioners and all rights and liabilities of the Commissioners in their capacity as managing authority for Howth Harbour in or relating to Howth Fishery Harbour Centre are hereby transferred to the Minister for the Marine.
- The Commissioners, in their capacity as managing authority for Howth Harbour, shall cease to exercise or carry out any powers, functions or duties in relation to Howth Fishery Harbour Centre. GIVEN under the Official Seal of the Minister for the Marine, this 13th day of December,

The effect of this Order is to declare Howth Harbour to be a Fishery Harbour Centre, to define the area of the Fishery Harbour Centre and to transfer the ownership and management of the Fishery Harbour Centre from the Commissioners of Public Works to the Minister for the Marine.
