No. 187 of 1990. SOCIAL WELFARE (RENT ALLOWANCE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1990. The Minister for Social Welfare, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 23 of the Housing (Private Rented Dwellings) Act, 1982 (No. 6 of 1982) and by section 3 of the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 (No. 1 of 1981), hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.
(2)These Regulations and the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) Regulations, 1982 to 1989, shall be construed together as one and may be cited together as the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) Regulations, 1982 to
  2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 19th day of July,
  4. In these Regulations— "the Act of 1981" means the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act, 1981 ; "the Principal Regulations" means the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) Regulations, 1982 ( S.I. No. 220 of 1982 ); "the Regulations of 1989" means the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 187 of 1989 ).
  5. Article 5 of the Principal Regulations (as amended by article 4 of the Regulations of 1989) is hereby amended by— ( a ) the substitution in sub-article
(2)of— (
  1. i)"£107" for "£102", (
  2. ii)"£61" for "£59", and (iii) "£5.00" for "£4.60" in each case in which the latter sum appears; ( b ) the substitution in paragraph (
  3. a)of sub-article
(3)of— (
  1. i)"£107" for "£102", and (
  2. ii)"£117" for "£112" in each case in which the latter sum appears; ( c ) the substitution in paragraph (
  3. b)of sub-article
(3)of— (
  1. i)"£61" for "£59", and (
  2. ii)"£66" for "£64" in each case in which the latter sum appears. 5. Article 6 of the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by— ( a ) the insertion after sub-paragraph (
  3. v)(inserted by article 7 of the Social Welfare (Rent Allowance) (Amendment) Regulations, 1984 ( S.I. No. 171 of 1984 )) of sub-article
(1)(
  1. a)of the following sub-paragraph:— "(
  2. vi)any sums received by way of payments by a health board in respect of a child who is boarded out.", ( b ) the substitution in sub-article
