ROAD TRAFFIC (SPEED LIMITS) (COUNTY BOROUGH OF DUBLIN AND COUNTY OF DUBLIN) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1990. The Minister for the Environment in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 45 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) and section 46 of the said Act as amended by section 23 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 , (No. 25 of 1968) hereby makes the following Regulations. 1.

(1)These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) (Amendment) Regulations, 1990.
(2)The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1989 ) and these Regulations shall be construed together and may be cited collectively as the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1989 to 1990. 2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 11th day of March, 1990. 3. In these Regulations "the Principal Regulations" means the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1989 ). 4. Reference 5 (
  1. c)of the Second Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended ( a ) by the addition thereto after paragraph (xxx) of the following paragraph— "(xxxi) The Western Parkway Motorway from a point 80 metres south of its junction with the Navan Road (National Road N3)", and ( b ) by the substitution for "thence in a northwesterly direction along the southern edge of the Navan Road (National Road N3) to a point 192 metres from its junction with Beech Park Avenue" of "thence in a northwesterly direction along the southern edge of the Navan Road (National Road N3) to a point 80 metres from its junction with Beech Park Avenue". 5. Reference 6 (
  2. n)of the Third Schedule to the Principal Regulations is hereby amended by the addition of the following: "(
  3. ix)The Palmerstown By-Pass between a point 1,195 metres east of its junction with the Fonthill-Newlands Road and a point 668 metres west of its junction with Kennelsfort Road Upper. (
  4. x)The Western Parkway Motorway from a point 97 metres north of the centre line of the northernmost bridge on the Palmerstown By-Pass, above the Western Parkway Motorway, to a point 955 metres north of the said point. (
  5. xi)The Northbound On-Ramp linking the Palmerstown By-Pass to the Western Parkway Motorway. (xii) The Northbound Off-Ramp linking the Western Parkway Motorway to the Palmerstown By-Pass. (xiii) The Southbound On-Ramp linking the Palmerstown By-Pass to the Western Parkway Motorway. (xiv) The Southbound Off-Ramp linking the Western Parkway Motorway to the Palmerstown By-Pass". These Regulations amend the Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) Regulations, 1989 ( S.I. No. 206 of 1989 ). The Regulations prescribe 40 mph and 30 mph speed limits on certain sections of the Western Parkway Motorway and of adjoining roads.
